Giving of Ourselves

Giving of Ourselves

Women are created as receivers, but we are also incredible givers. One of the biggest things we give is of ourselves we are selfless at times.

We tend to neglect the care of ourselves, because it may be seen as us being selfish, but caring for yourself first is self-love and not selfish. We give our love, our time our emotions, we even give of ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually depends on the circumstances. It’s not very often that you will come across a woman that is more of a taker than a giver. We as women give of ourselves to a fault, some of us out there over extend ourselves, we give more than we should. We tend to over pour until sometimes there is nothing left over in us for ourselves.

If you are like me, you enjoy giving of yourself to your loved ones or something you are passionate about, even a career you may not be crazy about, but you also give a lot of yourself to it.

It’s a wonderful feeling to give of ourselves to our loved ones or to our career or whatever our passions maybe, but we will eventually crash if we are not mindful of how much we are pouring out to others or other things. Some of us pouring out to others or something makes us feel needed or more fulfilled even more alive, but I think there has to be a limit. We have to have a measuring line somewhere, that we are careful not to cross, as not to sap ourselves dry, there has to be a point where we say “no” I need to replenish, refuel myself, I need to take care of myself, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

How can we give of ourselves if we are not healthy to do so? Therefore we have to take care of ourselves. I hope that most of us will not allow ourselves to get to the place where we will run out, sap ourselves dry, because of our special gift of giving.

I am very excited, and looking forward to the warmer weather, as I am an outdoor person. I enjoy going for long walks, sitting by the water taking in the scenery around me, or meeting up with a friend for a meal and conversations.

Take care of you, even if others may see it as being selfish, if you don’t, who will.

What are some of the things you do to self-care?
