Our workshops are designed to help women and youth achieve economic independence while building self-esteem and empowering them as agents of change in their communities. By combining creativity with technical skills, we foster an environment where participants can learn sewing techniques, understand essential tools, and gain the practical knowledge necessary to thrive.

What You’ll Learn

• Sewing Tools and Machine Basics: An introduction to sewing tools, including scissors, thread, snippers, seam rippers, and more. You’ll also become familiar with sewing machine parts and operation.

• Fabric Knowledge and Cutting Techniques: Gain insights into various fabric types, learn special cutting techniques, and make informed fabric selections.

• Simple Projects: Participants will complete fun and functional projects like cushion pillows, pin cushions, bonnets, and placemats.

• Garment Creation and Alteration: Learn to make various skirt styles (circle, gathered, pencil, pleated) and sew simple tops for women and girls. You’ll also acquire basic alteration skills to repair and enhance garments.
