We provide vocational training with special emphasis on sewing (Fashion & Designs), Art and Craft, French tutoring. We equally provide Entrepreneurship program.
Our multifaceted approach emphasizes both general and technical knowledge. We provide vocational training with special emphasis Sewing (Fashion & Designs) , Art and Craft, French/ English and home décor. The project is intended to create a safe space for vulnerable women, single mothers, at-risk women, newcomers and youth from immigrant communities in Ottawa with networking opportunities. Vocational Training program is followed by a two-weeks Entrepreneurship program which includes facilitating networking, mentorship, marketing, and sales opportunities to assist beneficiaries launch their own business. This program addresses unemployment and create self-employed business opportunities for women and youth who want to become entrepreneurs. Over the years, we have seen many success stories of how our training packages, like sewing sessions, bring women together. Mother-daughter sewing sessions have proven to present opportunities to enhance intergenerational bonds and the transfer of skills and wisdom from mother to daughter and vice versa. We aim at developing skills, building self-esteem and confidence whilst education our community about the Black culture and its values.
In April we our launching our next training women and youth in sewing from organizations like African Development Network, Ottawa who intend to establish their own business in Fashion and design.
In collaboration with Youth Service Bureau and Causeway in Ottawa, we have  provided training and employment for youth and adults through the Youth Job Connect program.  Participants have been easily able to acquire renown jobs in Ottawa at the end of their placement in Newlife Project Inc.
