Empowering women and girls, one session at a time!
Our goal is to inspire, educate and empower women and girls. We build up self esteem and restore confidence through creative activities. We provide entrepreneurial programs and vocational training (sewing & design classes) to equip beneficiaries with the necessary skills to help them launch their own small business.
Our Mother and daughter sewing session creates an opportunity for intergenerational transfer of vocational skills and wisdom. It is a time to bond and have fun.
Our objective is to provide women and youth with workshops to improve their economic independence and build self-esteem while empowering them to effect change within their communities. This is a great opportunity to combine your creativity with your technical skills to learn how to sew and gain the knowledge and skills needed to work toward success.

We will show you the different tools used in sewing including scissors, thread, snippers, seam reapers, etc. We will help you learn about your sewing machine, its different parts and how it operates.

Show you the different types of fabrics and special cuttings. You will have the opportunity to make simple projects including cushion pillows, pin cushions, bonnets, placemats, etc. You will be able to make different types of skirts, such as circle, gathers, pencil, pleats etc. and sew simple tops for women and girls, to name a few.  We will show you how to do simple alterations to your garments.

The seamstress had made my daughter's prom dress last May. Absolutely beautiful, unique, stood out in the best of ways on her big night! She plans on wearing it more often, and we're currently going back to NewLife for other projects. Would totally recommend.
